MCAD
Merit Thursday is an experimental animator and video artist. Their process is highly material based, and explores themes such as body, queerness, and the connection between artifice and nature. They have recently begun exploring machine learning processes as a way to augment pre-developed imagery and assets. They are a professor of animation at MCAD, and the youth programs director at Film North.

when I buried myself by the creek
"When I buried myself by the creek" is a short form experimental essay video about my experience undergoing gender affirming surgeries, requesting and receiving my removed tissue after surgery, and burying that tissue in a special place. This film was created using traditional hand drawn animation, body movement, video, microscopic textures, and machine learning software. Sound design by Cody Lamb.
