Wendy DesChene (Canada) and Jeff Schmuki (USA) operate under the guise of PlantBot Genetics Inc., a parody of Big Agricultural Firms who skillfully manipulate current food production and distribution systems. PlantBot Genetics combines tactical media and public space to promote critical thinking and political action on environmental issues. By imitating corporate practices, we underscore the potential consequences of the global corporatization of agriculture, the natural environment, and public space. PlantBot Genetics explores the lack of transparency and corporate "grafting" of food production and distribution by releasing humorous next-generation, robot-plant hybrids to disarm participants and prompt critical discussion on the environmental costs of intensive agricultural practices. We seek to energize a place by providing a platform for interaction and engagement. PlantBot Programming is directly linked to the community; humorous yet informative projects often include the local citizenry and continue long after our departure. Solar Power, Hydroponics, Robotics, and Community Action shapes the present and will determine the future. With everyone, we share how easy and rewarding it is to go off-grid, recycle and refashion, and retool, reducing our carbon footprint and becoming more self-reliant while encouraging social responsibility and civic engagement. Whether it be a street, museum, or gallery-based event, our goal is to connect the public to environmental concerns and to inspire audiences in an entertaining yet informative way.

Shuffling LMFAO Cabbage (Brassica LMFAO oleracera)

Shuffling LMFAO Cabbage (Brassica LMFAO oleracera) was developed without any regard for taste and displays large rosettes of broad ruffled leaves that are colorful, showy, and bitter. The spreading cultivar is a combination of DNA collected from beer bottles containing stout that was consumed by Uncle RedFoo and SkyBlu during the “Get Sleazy Tour”. Customer Testimonials We all have such hectic schedules, so why not an edible, dancing, houseplant? Says Laura Jane. “I’d rather have a puppy, but for now we are making do with company from living things that put down roots and only need watering once in a while. I also love the tunes!” says Andrew. “Having an edible houseplant is definitely a sound alternative because they are always there for you when you come home and taste wonderful.” says Kira. “10 years ago. I was given an LFMAO Cabbage and it began sprouting "children ''. Now the plants in my home fulfill the need to nurture and supplement my diet while entertaining friends and family when they visit.” says Jamie “Being able to care for something but not having too much commitment is ideal for my lifestyle, besides the leaves taste and sound great on pizza" says Willow. Daisy states, when she finds new growth on her plants, she can’t wait to share photos on Instagram and in group chat with her friends. But for Liz, it's an even bigger moment. "If I can coax a few more harvests and tunes out of the LFMAO Cabbage, I feel like the GOAT [greatest of all time]," she says.
